Food touching...bad...
I'm of the mind that food should remain separate and not touching on my plate. Hence, I'm a BIG fan of the compartment plates! My dad, on the other hand, says that "it's all the going to the same place anyhow" and mixes everything up into a big "slop" pile before eating. Ugh! I don't think we'll ever understand each other.

Olympic views
Watched the London Olympics at Huber's last night. My issue with the NBC coverage for the Olympics this year is that it's all "time delayed" (no one uses tape anymore, so why way tape-delayed??) and they only show you what they want you to see (kind of like 1 week of recordings for Survivor, then choking it down to 40 minutes on the air). So far it's very heavy on gymnastics and swimming. It doesn't help them that all of the results are already available from other sources as soon as it happens...I also watch occasionally through Xfinity online. Also, I'm not a fan-boy for Phelps. He's certainly NOT the greatest Olympic athlete of all time. I will concede that he is the most successful. There was a great article in the Chicago Tribute a couple of days ago that says it all. Lochte is WAY to full of himself and never built on his initial swim on day 1. He's like a short fuse...burned out fast.

Chik-fil-A controversy is NOT such!
The CEO of the Chik-fil-A franchise expressed his personal opinion and support for traditional marriage between a man and a woman. Even though GLBT's are not being discriminated against in the stores, this has caused a backlash starting in Chicago and rolling across the country from there. The Chicago mayor threw some gas on it saying that Chik-fil-A's views are not Chicago's views. WTF?!?! Chicago is one of the ultimate "melting pots"! But, I guess that doesn't include Christians or those with traditional biblical or Christian views (which, all be told, is probably 50% or great of Chicago's population). Rahm needs to open his eyes and close his mouth a lot more.
